Butterfly

Cosmetics/Packaging

An illustrative sketch of a flower

Summary

Butterfly is a cosmetics collection inspired by Tang-dynasty metalwork, butterfly motifs, and celadon ceramics. It translates traditional ornament into functional design: butterfly wings define eyeshadow compartments and guide brush arrangements, while curved silhouettes, pale green tones, gold accents, and transparent elements unify the collection.

Comprising an eyeshadow palette, brush set, blush compact, brow pencil, and lip product, the project explores how cultural references can shape contemporary beauty objects. Concept sketches, material studies, renderings, and physical models document its development.
